Morrison-Shearer Foundation
Scholarship Recipients
These recipients of the Morrison-Shearer Foundation Scholarship in Memory of Tom Jaremba are current and past students of the School of the Art Institute Performance Art Department. From left to right: Lee Blalock, Jillian Soto and Chryssa Tsampazi, missing: Joseph Belknap.
In their own words:
Lee Blalock is an artist who uses performance, sound and video to depict the mind as a playground for artifice and over-processed information.
Jillian Soto is an interdisciplinary artist working in performance and installation whose work often combines elements of social practice and collaboration.
Chryssa Tsampazi’s work mobilizes notions of the, "intimate public", of "performative speech actions and witness. Where the body of the artist, together with my collaborator/participants and the audience, constitute both the subject and the transmitter of the work".
